Job Description

JCPRD is seeking energetic individuals looking for an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and fun environment! Come join our Gold Medal Team as a Basketball Referee to help us grow our organization to make it among the best in the nation. Basketball Referee's are responsible for calling scheduled basketball games and programs sponsored or coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department.

  • Tactfully discuss questionable calls when it is convenient to consult with the other referee's if applicable
  • Attend trainings as directed by Sports Official Supervisor
  • Utilize resources (rule books, clinics) and problem-solving skills
  • $25.00 per game (all games have running clock)

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.  Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

Job Requirements

  • Participation in basketball and sports officiating experience preferred, but not required
  • The ability to officiate youth basketball (played in the evenings after 5 PM)
  • WILL TRAIN
  • Minumum age 16+ years old

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department.
