Job Description

The Facility Supervisor is primarily responsible for monitoring league games, practices, and tournaments on 10 softball fields and 2 baseball fields at Mid America Sports Complex. MASC is a top-class facility serving Johnson County and regional visitors. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, leadership, and supervision over the complex. Activities at Mid America are primarily slow pitch softball leagues. Additionally in 2024 we will host many weekend tournaments for youth baseball, fast pitch, and adult slow pitch. This is an ideal opportunity to work in a sports environment with flexible evening/weekend hours.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Enthusiastically greet patrons.
  • Open and/or close of the facility
  • Ensure Park policies are followed including enforcement of no outside alcohol, or no seeds/gum on turf.
  • Follow the facility schedule and assist with the setup/tear down of activities, events, and programs.
  • Accurately complete forms including incident reports and other light paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees and complete tasks assigned by the Adult Sports Coordinators

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.  Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

18 +. Experience in an athletic facility or sports office is preferred. Experience working directly with the public. Knowledge of customer service expectations and ability to solve customer service issues. Experience following direction and delegating. Ability to self-direct and take initiative. Part-time workload with hours primarily on evenings and weekends.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
