Essential Duties: Preschool Lead Teachers are responsible for direct interaction with the children in games, activities and free play, along with ensuring the general health, welfare and well-being of each child as well as some lesson planning. Lead teachers need to be active participants with the children enrolled, and effective communicators with parents, children, supervisors and co-workers.
Hourly Rate: $16.00/hour

Professional Experience:
Experience in preschool setting is required.
Required Skills:
Patient, good with children, good communication skills and flexible. Works well with others.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or other relevant degree.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Yes Experience may be substituted for degree.
No Education may be substituted for experience.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
Shift work – 7:30 a.m. –1p.m.
Travel required approximately 10% of time.
Exposure to extreme temperatures during field trips or during summer camp season 10% of time.
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
