Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6-8 hour split shifts (7am-9:00am and 2:00pm-6:00pm), 30 - 35 hours per week.
Location: Briarwood Elementary (Olathe); 14101 S Brougham Dr, Olathe, KS 66062
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
Minimum Job Requirements:
One year of experience with school age children in an organized setting. Qualified candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Self-motivation and ability to prioritize personal responsibilities and accomplish job tasks with autonomy from close supervision, as well as leadership and supervisory skills required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Physical Education, Administration of Parks and Recreation, Early Childhood, Child Psychology, or relevant field.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Five years of experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
Lifting – up to 25 lbs.
Shift work – 7 a.m. – 9 a.m./ 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Plus planning/meeting hours.
Travel required approximately 10% of time.
Exposure to extreme temperatures during field trips or during summer camp season 10% of time.
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
