Job Description

  • Want to have the best summer ever, while gaining valuable experience working with our Gold Medal award-winning team?  If so, Johnson County Park and Recreation District has a great opportunity for you!
  • We are actively seeking first semester seniors eligible to do an internship in the Park and Recreation field. 
  • Our internship offers students a chance to strengthen skills and abilities as they explore various fields of work within Park and Recreation.
  • 2026 Recreation interns will have the unique opportunity to engage in 2026 World Cup events hosted by JCPRD. 
  • Past interns have gone on to hold important positions at Johnson County Park and Recreation District and beyond.  Get a jumpstart on your career today!

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.  Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

Job Requirements

  • Students must possess at least an overall academic average of “C” or higher at the time of submitting application and at the starting date of the internship. 
  • A copy of the intern’s official transcript will be requested. 
  • Interns will typically work a 40-hour week. 
  • Minimum age: 20 years and older. 
  • Now accepting applications for Spring/Summer 2026.

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department.
