Job Description

Enjoy your fall working outside with school groups facilitating the award-winning interpretive Heritage History Lab School Field Trip at Ernie Miller Park and Nature Center. 

 

Essential Duties:

  • Greeting school groups of up to 150 and dividing them into groups.
  • Communicating with teachers and parents.
  • Giving introductions for presenters and leading students to stations in the park.
  • Completing registration forms.
  • Maintaining program time schedule.
  • Driving a van and assisting with program setup and takedown.
  • Hourly rate:  $17.00 per hour.

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.  Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Good communication skills.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Required to pass criminal background check.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience working outdoors.
  • Education in natural and/or cultural history.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

  •  Education may be substituted for experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

  • Requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Walking 2-3 miles daily with long periods of standing.
  • Lifting and carrying program equipment.  

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department.
