- This is a public relations position, providing general information and assistance to visitors at Antioch Park, Meadowbrook Park, and Ernie Miller Nature Center.  - Park Safety Aide’s also conduct bicycle patrols on the Gary Haller Streamway Trail System (Mill Creek), Kill Creek Park, Lexington Lake and the Coffee Creek Streamway from Heritage Park.  - Park Safety Aide’s assist the Park Police by taking non-criminal reports and observing for any possible criminal activities. - Starting pay is $14.00 per hour. The Outdoor Discovery Camps are licensed KDHE school-age programs run by our award-winning Outdoor Education Team of full-time Park Naturalists. This position leads children ages 6-12 in outdoor and indoor activities including games, stories, crafts, swimming, creek exploration, field trips, kayaking & canoeing, archery, bb guns, hiking, nature and wildlife lessons, etc. May perform other related duties as assigned.   Our Ideal Candidate will have: - Enthusiasm and a positive attitude - Strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team. - Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. - Creativity and the ability to come up with new and fun activities for children. - Ability to teach campers, problem solve, and exercise independent judgment. - Comfortable with leading groups of children ages 6-12. - A genuine interest in working with children and helping them have a positive and memorable experience at camp.
